To many, Virgin Gorda’s own Lenford Pope is the most impressive young sailor the BVI has ever produced. He represented the BVIs at the SPECIAL OLYMPICS in Greece in 2011, where he took home a Gold medal in sailing in the 420 class, and much of his training took place on North Sound. But at BEYC, he most enjoys being First Mate to Captain Splash on the snorkel excursion boat Ponce de Leon. He’s happiest when he’s on the water and around boats, and his positive vibe is absolutely infectious to all who encounter him.
