Roots & Reefs is the Bitter End Foundations signature marine conservation and education initiative, developed in partnership with Resident Marine Biologist Dr. Dave Hudson. The program connects guests, scientists, and supporters through immersive experiences that bring the Caribbean's coastal ecosystems to life, from reef and mangrove restoration to hands-on conservation projects and conversations with leading marine researchers. Together, these experiences deepen understanding of how coral reefs, mangroves, and seagrass beds protect coastlines, support biodiversity, and sustain island communities. Donor support directly advances scientific research, habitat restoration, and environmental education, helping ensure that the reefs and shorelines of North Sound remain healthy and resilient for generations to come.
